What is SwayGifts?

SwayGifts is a global digital gifting platform that lets people send and receive personalized gifts that may include monetary value and media messages. Think of it as a simple, personal, and secure way to send a meaningful gift anywhere in the world.

How do I sign up and create an account?

Getting started with SwayGifts is quick and simple! Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the SwayGifts homepage and click sign up
  2. Enter your email and create a secure password (at least 12 characters)
  3. Accept the Terms and Conditions
  4. Click "Create an Account"
  5. Log in and update your account information with your personal details

From your dashboard, you can manage your gifts, payment options, and personal details.

How can I send a gift?

Sending a gift through SwayGifts is quick, personal, and easy:

  1. Go to the Home page and click "Send a Gift"
  2. Add your gift details: title, message, and optionally attach a photo, video, or file
  3. Enter recipient information (email and phone number) and the amount you'd like to send
  4. Optionally invite others to contribute by adding their details
  5. Review and finalize your gift, then click "Finish" to send

Who handles the payments?

All payments are processed through Stripe, our regulated, PCI-compliant payment partner. When you send a gift, funds are charged to your payment method. Once the recipient verifies their identity, funds are automatically transferred to their connected Stripe account and then deposited to their bank account via Stripe's automatic payout schedule. SwayGifts facilitates these transfers but does not store or hold funds as a wallet service.

What currencies are supported?

SwayGifts currently supports major currencies including USD, AUD, GBP, and EUR, with more on the way as we continue to grow. Whenever possible, the app will automatically display amounts in your local currency for a smoother, more personalized experience.

Do SwayGifts Gifts expire?

Yes. All Gifts have a claim period and may expire if they're not claimed within that time. Details about claim deadlines and refund eligibility are explained in our Refunds and Expiration Policy.

Is my data secure?

Yes. SwayGifts LLC (United States) is the primary data controller for users worldwide. SwayGifts Pty Ltd (Australia) acts as a data processor, managing infrastructure, analytics, and secure storage under strict data transfer safeguards.

We collect only the information necessary to deliver and improve our services, including user information, payment data (we never store full card information), gift content, technical data, and compliance data. We use your information to create and deliver digital Gifts, verify identity, process payments, personalize your experience, and comply with legal obligations. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate safely and efficiently. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Where is SwayGifts based?

SwayGifts LLC is registered in the United States and operates globally under its parent company in Australia.

Service availability can vary depending on local laws and regulations, sanctions or regional restrictions, or third-party payment provider limitations. SwayGifts reserves the right to deny or limit access to certain features or regions where offering the service is not legally or operationally feasible.

Is this crowdfunding or a donation app?

No - SwayGifts is for personal gifting, not public fundraising or donations. Every gift is private, one-to-one, and designed for personal occasions. SwayGifts is not a bank, payment institution, or money transmitter, except as permitted by applicable laws.

How are recipients verified?

Recipients verify their identity securely through our payment partner before receiving funds. This ensures gifting remains compliant and safe across regions. Recipients may need to complete identity verification (KYC) depending on their country and the amount received.

What happens if my recipient doesn't claim the gift?

Recipients have 14 calendar days from the date of issue to claim their Gift. If the Gift isn't claimed within that time, it automatically expires. The sender may contact support@swaygifts.com for guidance on retrieving the expired Gift. Refunds may be considered if the Gift was not claimed within the claim period.
