How do payments work on SwayGifts?
When someone sends a gift or contributes to a celebration on SwayGifts, they are purchasing a one-time digital gifting service tied to a specific recipient or event.
Senders are charged at checkout once the recipient has completed verification to receive funds via Stripe Connect. SwayGifts does not provide wallets or stored balances, and funds are not reusable or transferable. Once a payment succeeds, the associated payout is automatically routed to the recipient’s verified account through Stripe.
How do I sign up and create an account?
Getting started with SwayGifts is simple:
- Create an account using your email address
- Accept the Terms and Conditions
- Complete your profile information
- Start creating or receiving gifts
How can I send a gift?
Sending a gift through SwayGifts is quick and personal:
- Create a new gift or celebration
- Add a message and optional media (photo or video)
- Enter recipient contact details (email or phone number)
- Choose an amount, if applicable
- Review and complete checkout
Who handles the payments?
All payments are processed through Stripe, our regulated and PCI-compliant payment partner. SwayGifts charges senders for one-time digital gifting services and routes payouts to verified recipients via Stripe Connect. SwayGifts does not offer wallets, stored balances, or reusable funds.
What currencies are supported?
SwayGifts supports major currencies such as USD, AUD, GBP, and EUR. Where possible, amounts are displayed in local currency for convenience, with final processing handled by Stripe.
Do SwayGifts gifts expire?
Yes. Gifts must be completed within a defined claim period. If a gift is not completed within that timeframe, it may expire. Details are explained in our Refunds and Expiration Policy .
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and payment information is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store full card details.
Is this a crowdfunding or donation platform?
No. SwayGifts is designed for personal gifting and celebrations, not public fundraising or donations. Gifts are private and tied to specific recipients or events. SwayGifts does not provide peer-to-peer money transfer, wallet, or stored-value services.
How are recipients verified?
Recipients may be required to complete identity verification through Stripe before they can receive funds. This helps ensure compliance with financial and anti-fraud regulations.
What happens if a gift is not completed?
If a gift is not completed within the claim period, it may expire. Senders can contact support@swaygifts.com for assistance. Refund eligibility is described in our Terms.
